A little cultural note: Do you see that red brick roof behind the mobile tindahan vehicle (in the 3rd and 4th photos)? That kiosk houses Magellan’s Cross. The cross was planted in that spot five centuries ago when Magellan and his men landed in our city, as a symbol of triumph of Roman Catholicism in the country. Nobody really knows what happened to the original cross but they say that parts of it are enclosed in the wooden cross that now stands inside the kiosk.
