n. ‘krimp

A soft metal bead that is pinched (“crimped”) onto beading wire, cord or string to hold beads in place. This is done using a bead crimping tool or pliers.

Instead of tying your cord (or nylon string) into a knot in order to hold beads in place, use crimp beads.  Your jewelry will look cleaner.  

They come in silver, gold, or copper.
